Little is known about Hatch's origins, but his aura of loss speaks volumes. He seldom speaks of what happened in The Flood, yet the pain lingers in every flick of his gaze and every sharp remark. He seeks peace, not for himself, but for others.

Though Hatch can be skittish and avoidant, he shines when given one-on-one connection. His magic is bombastic, clearly strong enough to carry a battle where needed. While others rebuild the world around him out of hope, Hatch comes along for the ride as atonement for his past crimes.

Short Story

Hatch runs his hand across the moss-lined stones, fingertips leaving small trails of aether. The sick child sleeps in a hut not far from here, fever fading. The villagers call him a miracle worker. Hatch lets them. They don't know what he's done, why he's here, only that he can help now.

He closes his eyes and listens to the breeze. For a moment, just a moment, the screaming in his mind stops.
